Parties, Jan 20-27

I just returned from escorting the Singles ClubMed Cancun Vacation. What a terrific trip! I had heard great things about ClubMed, but had never wanted to go, because I thought I'd be bored staying in one place for an entire week. In the past I have preferred to go on cruises, because of the variety of ports visited. To my surprise, no problem! It was a gorgeous resort, lots of fun things to do, great group of people, great food. Most of our singles said they were looking forward to our ClubMed for Singles next January at Turks and Caicos, a beautiful island in the Caribbean. More details about all of our singles trips at www.SinglesTravelCompany.com.

While I was gone, Jim Spillane filled in at the registration table at two of our three parties. Jim reports that the Art & Wine Tasting Party at Evolving Art Gallery in San Francisco on Saturday, Jan 20 went great. Excellent turnout, good male-female ratio, lots of new attractive faces, lovely art gallery. In fact, the only problem was that it was too crowded. We had no idea so many would come! Our next Art & Wine Tasting Party comes the day before Valentine's Day, Thursday, Feb 13, at The Artists Alley.

The following Saturday, Jan 27, was a Lock & Key & Dance Party at the Sheraton San Jose. Jim tells me that it was another big crowd and that people particulary loved the music of HickeyB!, owner of Choice Music. Jim says he left at 11:30pm and the dance floor was still packed! These Lock & Key parties are so successful, we have scheduled three more: Thursday, Feb 8 in Sausalito; Saturday, Feb 17 in Concord; and Saturday, Feb 24 in San Francisco.

Our third party while I was in Mexico was the TGIF for Young Single Professionals, hosted by Barbara Millin of Singles Supper Club. Barbara says it was a nice turnout and that she was particularly pleased that so many stayed after the TGIF was officially over. Our next Young Single Professionals party will be on Friday, February 16, at The Cellar in SF.

Valentine's Day is the most dreaded day of the year for singles! No one wants to spend V-day alone. That's why we have scheduled 8 Meet Your Valentine parties all over the Bay Area, beginning on Feb 1st with a Singles Mixer & Live Band Dance at the beautiful Park Chalet Restaurant in San Francisco; and our first Fremont party in several years at Massimo's Restaurant on Feb 3rd. More details about all of our parties at www.ThePartyHotline.com.

See you at the parties!

Golden Gate Yacht Club Party, Jan 12

We did it again! Another massive turnout at the Golden Gate Yacht Club, Friday, Jan 12, despite the fact that it was the coldest day of the year. I guess people like this venue! Alas, while I was very pleased with the turnout, we had two serious problems. First, the coat rack collapsed, as people piled on too many coats. Second, the music was substandard. Sorry about that. People had a great time, regardless. The dance floor was packed all night. Next time at the Yacht Club we will do better!

We are slowing down the pace of frenetic parties, beginning next weekend with only one party: Art & Wine Tasting Party on Saturday, Jan 15, at a new location, Evolving Art Gallery, in SF. The following weekend features two parties, a TGIF for Young Single Professionals on Friday, Jan 26 at Lion & Compass in Sunnyvale; and a Lock & Key & Dance on Saturday, Jan 27 at the Sheraton San Jose.

That's the lull before the storm, as we move into February with 8 Meet Your Valentine Parties! More details at www.ThePartyHotline.com.

Parties, Jan 2-7, 2007

The first week of 2007 featured four fun parties. We began with a Single Travelers Party on Tuesday, Jan 2, at The Spinnaker in Sausalito. Ann Thomas of The Singles Travel Company revealed dozens of exciting trips to destinations worldwide, followed by socializing. 100 singles attended, quite a crowd for a Tuesday night! Those of you who missed the fun are not out of luck--we repeat the party this coming Saturday, Jan 13, 4:30-6:30pm, at Number One Broadway in Los Gatos. Admission is free. If you can't make this one, visit Ann's website at www.SinglesTravelCompany.com.

Our annual Marin Singles Convention attracted a huge crowd on Friday, Jan 5. We were lucky, with a beautiful, clear, moonlit night, that made the view of San Francisco and the Bay so spectacular! Author Lisa Altalida presented an entertaining keynote on Dating Boot Camp. Then DJ Mike Keating played a terrific mix of today's hottest hits and the greatest songs of yesteryear.

The Monterey Bay Singles Convention on Saturday was at a lovely new venue for us, The Hyatt Regency. Prior to the great Dance Party, I gave a well-received presentation on "Finding Love in 2007" and guaranteed everyone would find love in the New Year or get their money back! I will deliver the same keynote, with the same guarantee, at the Meet Your Valentine Convention on Saturday, Feb 10, at the Hilton Hotel Conference Center in the East Bay in Emeryville.

We concluded the weekend on Sunday with a Wine Tasting Party at the beautiful Adagio Winery in Gilroy, in a newly refurbished historic 1927 Spanish Mansion. What a lovely building and party, plus a great turnout!

This coming weekend we have two big parties. On Friday, Jan 12 we return to our most popular party venue, the Golden Gate Yacht Club in SF, for a Dance by the Bay with Luau Buffet, featuring the great music of DJ John Howard of Choice Music. On Saturday we present a Free Single Travelers Party in Los Gatos (see above). For more details about all of our upcoming parties, visit www.ThePartyHotline.com.

New Year's Eve Parties

Great crowds at our Pre New Year's Party in Concord on Friday night and our New Year's Eve Bash on Sunday, Dec 31! Our singles were definitely in the mood to celebrate 2007. Our DJs (Bill McGwier on Friday and HickeyB! on Sunday) had the right stuff to keep the dance floor full all night! Bill will be our DJ again at our Dance by the Bay with Luau Buffet on Jan 12 in SF; HickeyB! will be our Dj again at the Monterey Bay Singles Convention on Jan 6.

A few people were surprised to find that the parking was not free at the New Year's Eve Bash in Palo Alto. Please do not assume that parking is always free at our parties. Most of the time it is, but we always clearly indicate free parking if that is the case. Likewise, don't assume there will be food unless, again, we clearly indicate that in our promotion for the party. You know what they say: NEVER ASSUME.

Always check our website at www.ThePartyHotline.com if you are unsure about prices or details about our parties. I update this website almost daily, so there is always new information about previously scheduled parties, plus new parties added all the time. If you are not already on my free Singles Newsletter email list, send your email address to me at rich@richgosse.com. I will invite you to 150 parties a year for singles in the greater Bay Area.

2007 will be full of great parties, beginning on Tuesday, Jan 2 with a Single Travelers Party at The Spinnaker at Sausalito. If that isn't convenient, we repeat the party on Saturday, Jan 13 at Number One Broadway in Los Gatos.

The largest Marin gathering of singles for 2007 will be on Friday, Jan 5, at Servino's Ristorante in Tiburon. The largest gathering of singles in the Monterey Bay Area will be on Saturday, Jan 6, at the Hyatt Regency in Monterey. We conclude the weekend on Sunday, Jan 7 with a Wine Tasting Party at a 1927 Spanish Mansion. Hope to see you at the parties.

Happy New Year!
