Parties, April 20-24, 2007

The weekend began with our Young Single Professionals Party on Friday, May 20, at The Cellar in San Francisco. Not as large as our last YSP party there, but still a good turnout.

Our Lock & Key & Dance on Saturday at the Crowne Plaza in Concord had a great turnout, despite the rain and closure of Hwy 4. I guess if people really want to come to the party, they'll get there no matter what!

The weekend concluded with our Cabernet Tasting Party on Sunday at the lovely Pacheco Ranch Winery. I was really worried about the rain, because we wanted to do the party outdoors in the lush ranch setting. We lucked out, it was a beautiful sunny day. We needed the sun, because if we had moved indoors we would not have been able to accommodate the large crowd!

On Tuesday, April 24 we had our first-ever Benicia party at First St. Cafe. We had our own private upstairs party room, with views of the water. Great ambience, terrific appetizers. I will confess I was worried that not enough people would show up, since Benicia is such a small town, and Tuesday is the slowest night in the party business. Boy, was I surprised! The place was packed, with good male/female ratio. We will definitely do another Benicia party!

This coming weekend we only have two parties. The first is our annual Black & White Ball for Singles, Friday, April 27, at David's Restaurant next to the Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club. Always a great turnout for this elegant soiree! We conclude the weekend with a Wine Tasting Party at the beautiful Rios-Lovell Estate Winery in the Livermore Valley.

Parties, April 13-14, 2007

Friday the 13th was a lucky day for those who attended one of our two parties, in SF and Pacific Grove. The San Francisco Party featured wine tasting at Artists Alley. Big crowd, lots of new faces, people stayed late. Our first-ever Pacific Grove party was at Shall We Dance, a lovely dance studio. The party began with a free Salsa dance lesson, then dancing to all kinds of music, with DJ HickeyB! Good turnout.

The Pacific Grove party was the first of 3 parties of what we billed as Monterey Bay Singles Weekend. On Saturday, April 14 we had two more parties. The first was at E3 Playhouse in Santa Cruz. Small turnout. I guess people just don't want to go to a singles mixer on a Saturday afternoon, especially with the sun shining. Saturday night we had our first-ever Salinas Singles Mixer, at Hullaballoo. What a great restaurant! Terrific food. Excellent turnout. The mixer was supposed to be over at 9:30pm, but the place was still crowded at 10pm.

We hope to do the Monterey Bay Area again soon. Bargetto Winery in Soquel (between Santa Cruz and Monterey on Hwy 1) has asked us to do another wine tasting party with them. Last year's party was packed! Stay tuned for details about our upcoming party at Bargetto.

This coming weekend we have 3 parties. On Friday, April 20, we return to The Cellar in San Francisco for another Young Single Professionals party. Our last party there attracted 150 singles. In addition to our fun Mixer Game, we have appetizers first hour, plus two dance parties, one featuring your favorite hits from the 80s, the other featuring hip-hop. Only $10 at the door for the entire evening, beginning at 7:30pm. Such a deal!

On Saturday, April 21, we return to the Crowne Plaza in Concord for another Lock & Key & Dance Party. 175 singles attended our last one at this location. Let's go over 200 this time!

The Grand Finale of the Weekend is our first-ever Cabernet Tasting Party, at Pacheco Ranch Winery in Novato. Only $10 at the door includes tasting Pacheco's great cabernets, plus light hors d'oeuvres to cleanse the palate.

Singles Parties, Easter Weekend, April 6-7, 2007

Every Easter Weekend we get big crowds at our parties. This year was no exception. On Friday, April 6 we sponsored the Tri-Valley Singles Convention. Jeannine Kaiser, America's Dating Coach, gave an inspiring Keynote Address, followed by great music by DJ Miguel of Startracks. Congratulations to Susan Falconer, who won a free month of coaching from Jeannine.

On Saturday, April 7 we had our second Lock & Key & Dance at Los Gatos Lodge. Unlike last December 9, when it rained heavily, the weather was great and the crowd was even bigger than before. We couldn't have fitted any more singles!

NEXT WEEKEND we have four parties: one in SF and the other three in the Monterey Bay Area. The weekend begins with two Lucky Friday the 13th parties, at The Artists Alley in San Francisco, where we have another Art& Wine Tasting Party; and at Shall We Dance in Pacific Grove. On Saturday, April 14, we also have two parties, at new locations. In the late afternoon we have a Singles Mixer & Live Band Dance at E3 Playhouse in Santa Cruz; in the evening, a Singles Mixer at Hullaballoo Restaurant in Salinas. We have never done a party in Salinas before, so we hoping for a big crowd to celebrate our expansion.
