Singles Events, June 19 - June 26, 2007

I am trying to recover from a very busy week, featuring five singles events stretching from Sacramento to Santa Cruz! The week started off easy for me in my home county, with my Looking for Love Seminar at the College of Marin, on Tuesday night, June 19. Great to be able to do a singles event without driving several hours. This was a fun group, and many of them showed up at our Marin Singles Party on Saturday, June 23, at Stars Ballroom in Novato. Great dance party with the return of popular DJ Darryl K, giant wooden dance floor, big crowd. Stars is a terrific place to take dancing lessons, which will enable you to interact more effectively with the opposite sex!

On Friday, June 22, we co-sponsored the Singles Charity Ball in Sacramento. 100% of the money went directly to The Seva Foundation in Berkeley to cure blindness. Many thanks to Phil Seyer of The Professionals Guild for all the hard work in organizing, promoting, and running this party. If you did not get a chance to donate to this wonderful cause, please visit The Seva Foundation.

On Sunday we held our annual Wine Tasting Party at Bargetto Winery in Soquel, just south of Santa Cruz. Another big crowd this year, and once again the weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold. We held the party on Bargetto's outdoor deck, with a wonderful view of the Soquel River. Great party! Bargetto's delicious Olalieberry Wine was just too delicious to pass up, so I bought a bottle.

On Tuesday, June 26, we did our first-ever party in Orinda at a wonderful restaurant that features live jazz several nights a week--The Orinda House. The food was delicious! Our party was very crowded, with lots of new faces.

This coming weekend kicks off early on Thursday, June 28 with a Young Single Professionals Party at Park Chalet Garden Restaurant in San Francisco. On Friday we host a Wine Tasting Party at Alberto's Night Club in Mt View, followed by an authentic Brazilian Dance Party, like one you could only experience in Rio, with Live Band and Dancers. We conclude the weekend with an Art & Wine Tasting Party at our favorite art gallery, Artists Alley, in San Francisco.

Singles Parties, June 14-16, 2007

Our first-ever party at the Walnut Creek Marriott on Thursday, June 14, was well-attended and lots of fun! We did our Card Match Game, where you get half of a playing card (e.g. Jack of Diamonds) and try to find your match (someone of the opposite sex who has the other half). Sometimes it's hard to get everyone to play the Mixer Game at our parties, but not at this one! It sure broke down the barriers quickly. We usually don't have Mixer Games at our Dance Parties or our Wine Tasting Parties (the dancing or the wine tasting usually facilitate enough interaction that a Mixer Game is not necessary), but we have found over the 29 years we have been producing singles parties that you have to have something to lubricate social interaction in a room full of strangers. If you play the game, you will meet everyone at the party.

Massive crowd at our Welcome Summer Party at the Golden Gate Yacht Club in SF on Saturday night! No need for a Mixer Game at this party--the dance floor was packed. We co-sponsored the party with Singles Supper Club and Table for Six. Congratulations to Grayling Howell, who won a free membership to Table for Six.

Next week features four singles events. On Tuesday night, June 19 I teach an entertaining seminar on "Looking for Love in All the Right Places," based on my book of the same title, at College of Marin.

On Friday night we have The Singles Charity Ball, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting The Seva Foundation to cure blindness.

Stars Ballroom in Novato is the site for our Marin Singles Party on Saturday night, featuring a free dance lesson and light hors d'oeuvres, plus dancing to all kinds of music with popular DJ Darryl K.

Last year's party at Bargetto Winery in Soquel (just south of Santa Cruz) was so much fun, we're doing it again this coming Sunday. We hope to have the great weather again, so we can enjoy Bargetto's lovely outdoor deck overlooking the Soquel River, plus their delicious wines!

Singles Parties, June 5-10, 2007

We produced 5 singles events this past week, two of them at new locations: our Sausalito Waterfront Mixer on Tuesday, June 5 at the lovely Horizons Restaurant; and our Danville Mixer at renowned Mudd's Restaurant on Thursday, June 7. Big crowds at both parties, with terrific appetizrs!

Our annual Silicon Valley Singles Convention, Friday, June 8, as always, was packed! Terrific huge dance floor. Plus an optional Progressive Dinner earlier in the evening. Jerusha Stewart, author of The Single Girl's Manifesta, gave an inspiring Keynote Address, then we danced the night away with popular DJ Miguel of Startracks.

On Saturday, Ann Thomas hosted a Single Travelers Party for us at E3 Playhouse in Santa Cruz. Not a big crowd, but everyone enjoyed the information about all of the great singles trips coming up soon. More details at www.SinglesTravelCompany.com.

The weekend concluded with my Finding a Lasting Relationship Seminar on Sunday night. Small class, due to the fact that the Santa Rosa Jr College Catalog was mailed two weeks late, so most people didn't have time to sign up for the class. But we had fun, regardless. Those of you who missed this entertaining seminar can attend a repeat performance, Looking for Love in All the RIGHT Places on Tuesday, June 19, at College of Marin. Details at www.ThePartyHotline.com.

Only two parties this coming week. We are excited about our first-ever party at the Walnut Creek Marriott on Thursday night, June 14. Should be a big crowd!

An even larger crowd is expected for our Welcome Summer Party on Saturday night, June 16, at the Golden Gate Yacht Club in SF, our most popular venue. For $25 we feed you a delicious buffet dinner, followed by dancing to your favorite hits, with incomparable views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin, and the Bay!
