Singles Parties, November 9 - December 31, 2012

We ended 2012 with a bang at our New Years Eve Bash, Dec 31, at the luxurious four-star J.W. Marriott Hotel Union Square in San Francisco. Huge crowd, great party! DJ Darryl K spun his usual music/video magic and the dance floor was packed all night (after a slow start).

Two nights earlier we did our annual Pre-New Years Eve Party, this time with a Live Band (Johnny Neri's), Saturday, Dec 29, at David's Banquet Center at the Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club. Thank you to Laura of Singles Supper Club (co-sponsor of this party with us), who reports a big crowd and terrific party.

OTHER PARTIES DURING THIS PERIOD:
  • Sadie Hawkins Dance, Friday, Nov 9, at The Pleasanton Hotel. Good turnout, not huge. Fun party. Our singles really enjoyed the expensive makeover that transformed this party space into a wonderful venue for a singles dance.
  • No Rejection Dance, Friday, Nov 16, Neptune's at Pier 39 in San Francisco. This is such a great spot, with great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay. Unfortunately, once again rain interrupted our plans, so we had a sparse turnout. Hopefully the next time we do a party at Neptune's the weather will cooperate! Our singles loved the concept of no rejection, with prizes given to those who danced with the most people.
  • Baby Boomers Bash, Saturday, Nov 24, at the Hyatt Regency Burlingame. Good turnout, fun musical videos with DJ Darryl K. Lovely hotel ballroom.
  • Astrological Matchmaking Party, Tuesday, Nov 27, at the new Aloft Hotel in Millbrae. What a waste of a terrific new venue! Terrible turnout. Can't explain it, as this theme has done well in the past. Just one of life's mysteries...
  • Holiday Ball for Single Professionals, Friday, Nov 30, at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. Everyone loved the Venetian Room at this landmark Nob Hill hotel. Big crowd, despite wet weather.
  • Marin Holiday Mixer, Sunday, Dec 2, at Hilltop 1892 in Novato. First time we've had a small turnout for our annual party at this lovely restaurant, with great view. It was a fun party for those who came, however, as the interaction between men and women was particularly good. Small but intimate party. Great appetizers.
  • Holiday Singles Convention, Saturday, Dec 8, at Silo's at the historic Napa River Inn. Nice turnout, great party. I gave an entertaining talk on All I Want for Christmas... Is a Loving Partner, which was well-received. Then DJ Darryl K spun his magic for a high-energy dance party!
  • Young Single Professionals Mixer, Tuesday, Dec 11, at the Sheraton Silicon Valley in Milpitas. Thank you to Laura of Singles Supper Club, who co-sponsored this party with us and reports a good turnout and fun party in a lovely venue.
  • East Bay Holiday Dance, Friday, Dec 14, at the W Hotel Silicon Valley in Newark. Fun party. Unfortunately the W is being remodeled and relaunched as an Aloft Hotel, so this may be our last dance party at this upscale hotel.
  • Marin Holiday Dance, Saturday, Dec 15, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in San Rafael. Good turnout, fun party.
  • Christmas Dance, Friday, Dec 21, at the San Mateo Marriott. Nice turnout, great party.
  • Christmas Art & Wine Tasting Party, Saturday, Dec 22, at Nieto Fine Art Gallery near Union Square in San Francisco. For many years this annual party has always been our largest Wine Tasting Party of the year. Not this time. Small turnout. Great wines.
  • Cougar Pre-New Years Eve Party, Friday, Dec 28, at the Hard Rock Cafe in San Francisco. Great venue. We were expecting a wonderful party, as the Hard Rock promised their VJ (a DJ who plays musical videos) would take our requests all night long. Unfortunately their system crashed, so we never really got the dancing going. Can't have a great dance party without great music...
UPCOMING PARTIES IN THE NEW YEAR:
  • New Years Resolutions Mixer, Thursday, Jan 3, at the Flamingo Resort Hotel in Santa Rosa. This is the first time we are doing this theme in Sonoma County and we are hoping for a very good turnout.
  • 2013 Singles Convention, Friday, Jan 4, at the Holiday Inn in Dublin. Formerly the Radisson, after a renovation, we are hoping this hotel will be the venue for many fun parties in the new year and years to come. Dr. Wendy Lyon reveals "How to Find Love in 2013," followed by Dance Party.
  • Singles Night in Benicia, Tuesday, Jan 8, at First Street Cafe. Our annual Benicia mixer at this private upstairs banquet room is always fun.
  • Match Your Key Live Band Dance, Thursday, Jan 10, at Number One Broadway in Los Gatos. This is our first Match Your Key at this popular Silicon Valley nightclub and we are hoping for a great live band (TBA) and turnout.
  • An Elegant Evening at Ondine, Friday, Jan 11, in Sausalito. Legendary Ondine is a premier venue, very classy, terrific views of San Francisco and the Bay. Should be a great dance party!
  • Country Club Dance on San Pablo Bay, Saturday, Jan 19, at the Richmond Country Club. This is our first party at this lovely facility.
  • Meet Your Valentine Convention, Friday, Jan 25, at the newly renovated DoubleTree Hotel SFO in Burlingame. A much larger ballroom, with fancy chandeliers, after 7 million dollars, should make this the perfect venue for our annual main event before Valentine's Day. Author Jeannine Kaiser will deliver an entertaining keynote, followed by Dance Party.
  • Asian/Non-Asian Valentine Dance, Friday, Feb 8, at Embassy Suites Hotel in Burlingame. We return to the hotel where we did so many fun Sunday night parties, but this time, for the very first time, we will be in a huge ballroom, rather than the hotel lounge.
  • Meet Your Valentine Dance, Saturday, Feb 9, at David's Restaurant at Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club. Co-sponsored with Singles Supper Club.
