Singles Parties, January 27 - February 24, 2012
As usual our Golden Gate Yacht Club Dance in San Francisco, Friday, Feb 24, attracted a huge crowd! DJ Flip, from Las Vegas, got lots of compliments. Hopefully we can get him to DJ for us again. It was a clear night, with spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, The City, and The Bay. Marvelous party.
We always do several fun parties before Valentines Day, the one day of the year that no one enjoys being single:
- Meet Your Valentine Dance, Silicon Valley, Friday, Feb 3, at Michael's at Shoreline Park n Mountain View. Big crowd!
- Meet Your Valentine Dance, North Bay, Saturday, Feb 4, at Embassy Suites in San Rafael. Good turnout.
- Meet Your Valentine Convention, Friday, Feb 10, at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame. Nice turnout. Yours truly gave a well-received talk on "How to Meet Your Valentine in 2012."
- Irish Valentines Day Dance, Saturday, Feb 11, at Lilly Macs in Sunnyvale. Laura Lane of Singles Supper Club, who ran this party for us, reports a lively crowd.
- Valentines Day Mixer, Tuesday, Feb 14, at Crogan's in the Montclair area of Oakland. We packed the place. We proved it can be fun to be single on V-Day!
Two other notable singles parties during this period:
- Match Your Key Dance, Friday, Jan 27, at the Pleasanton Marriott. Good turnout.
- East Bay Singles Convention, Friday, Feb 17, at the Hilton Newark Fremont. Nice turnout, although it didn't look very crowded because it was a huge ballroom. Emily Morse gave a fun, informative talk on Sex. Nobody walked out, so I guess she didn't offend anyone (nor did she bore anyone!)
UPCOMING PARTIES:
- Match Your Key Dance, Friday, March 2, at David's at Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club. Always a good turnout for our parties at this lovely large restaurant!
- Art & Wine Tasting Party, Saturday, March 3, at Nieto Fine Art Gallery near Union Square in San Francisco. Our first party (December, 2011) at this gorgeous art gallery attracted quite a crowd. We wanted to repeat last month on the Saturday before Valentines Day, but had to cancel it because of the Chinese New Years Parade. A million people competing for limited parking spots would not have been fun!
- Whitney Houston Tribute Dance, Saturday, March 10, at the San Mateo Marriott. One of ou favorite DJs, DJ Darryl K, was seriously injured a few months ago in a motorcycle accident. The good is that he is back! Darryl will play the great hits (and videos!) of an American icon, plus a few of her superstar contemporaries (Michael Jackson, Madonna, etc.). Should be a terrific night at a lovely hotel!
- St Patrick's Day Dinner Dance, Friday, March 16, at a Silicon Valley location. More details soon.
- Singles Charity Ball, Saturday, March 24, at the Marriott Hotel Bishop Ranch in San Ramon. This is our first-ever party at this elegant hotel, which is the home of a giant Singles New Years Eve Bash most years. Should be a huge crowd, particularly since your $20 donation is tax-deductible. 100% of the money goes directly to The Seva Foundation to restore sight to the blind, at an average cost of only $50 per eye surgery in the Third World. Tonight meet lots of new single friends who care about others!
- A Night to Remember, Friday, March 30, at Servino's Ristorante in Tiburon. Always a packed crowd at this lovely restaurant. We have our own large banquet room upstairs, with great views of The City and The Bay!
