Singles Parties, August 18-26, 2008

4 fun parties during the past 9 days:

  • Baby Boomers Bash, Monday, Aug 18, at the Flamingo Resort Hotel in Santa Rosa. Moderate-sized crowd, but we had a good time! Next Baby Boomers Bash is on Sunday, Aug 31, at Severino's at The Seacliff Inn, Aptos (Santa Cruz Area).
  • Advanced Degrees Mixer, Tuesday, Aug 19, at Gaylord's in Sausalito. Great location for a party, with lots of new faces. Unfortunately the parking lot filled up quickly, so many of the latecomers had to park a bit of a distance.
  • Wine Tasting & Dance, Saturday, Aug 23, at Alberto's Night Club in Mtn View. Debby and I were attending a wedding in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, so I missed this one. Patrick Dalal and Jim Spillane, who ran the party, say it went well.
  • Walnut Creek Marriott Mixer, Tuesday, Aug 26. Another big crowd, just like last year! Everyone loves this beautiful hotel, with the spectacular atrium lounge where we held the party. The only complaint was that the delicious appetizers ran out quickly. It pays to arrive on time at these parties!

We ALWAYS do well on three day holiday weekends. Most people stay home (you've heard of the "staycation") and are looking for something fun to do on a Labor Day Weekend. We have three great parties scheduled:

  • Single Mingle, Thursday, Aug 28, at Trader Vic's in Emeryville. The experts are predicting spectacular weather for tonight, ideal for a party at the wonderful tiki bar on the deck of this luxurious bayside restaurant!
  • Hot August Night Dance, Friday, Aug 29, at Lion and Compass in Sunnyvale. I guess we named this dance right! Should be a balmy night for dancing. Optional Progressive Dinner available at additional cost.
  • Baby Boomers Bash, Saturday, Aug 31, at Severino's at The Seacliff Inn, Aptos (Santa Cruz area). Only $10 for a Dance Party with a top DJ, plus appetizers, in a lovely resort-like setting. Such a deal! If you want to stay overnight, we have a special rate, just for our singles, of only $99. Expect a big crowd, because Monday is a holiday!
