Singles Parties, August 24 - 28, 2010

4 parties this past week:

• East Bay Single Mingle, Tuesday, August 24, at Alborz Restaurant in Walnut Creek. It was the hottest day of the year, so we were not able to enjoy the outdoor seating at this wonderful Persian restaurant. So we were indoors and had a fun party. Alborz shared their delicious appetizers with us.
• Young Single Professionals Dinner & Mixer, Tuesday, August 24, at California Cafe in Los Gatos. Laura Lane of Singles Supper Club reported that it was also very hot in Los Gatos, but a good turnout regardless.
• Wine Tasting Dance, Saturday, August 28, at Redux in Walnut Creek. We have been many parties over the years at this nightclub, which has changed names many times (Abernathy's, Echo, Groove, Spin). Congrats to the new owners, who remodeled the place. It is vastly improved! Fun group came to the wine tasting, then stayed for dancing to the greatest hits of all time.
• Summer in the City Dance, Saturday, August 28, at 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco. Laura Lane of Singles Supper Club reports that we had our own party room for the first couple of hours, then had the sound wall removed so our party could merge with the other half of this large nightclub.

• Marin Single Mingle, Tuesday, Aug 31, at Frantoio Ristorante at Larkspur Hotel in Mill Valley. This is our third party at this upscale restaurant. The past two parties attracted a good turnout and we are hopeful we will do well again.
• Singles Mixer & Live Band Dance Celebrating the 19th Anniversary of Its Just Lunch, Thursday, Sep 2, at Number One Broadway Nightclub in Los Gatos. Its Just Lunch is the world's largest matchmaking service. Instead of searching through thousands of online profiles yourself, IJL's personal matchmakers will help you meet your match! IJL will give out a $1,000 free membership to one lucky person at this party! Bonedrivers is the Live Band. We will also have a Mixer Game and prizes, plus appetizers. All for just $10!
• Miss Cougar East Bay Contest & Dance, Friday, Sep 3, at W Hotel in Newark. Ladies are eligible to win the Title of Miss Cougar East Bay. She will win a free berth on the International Cougar Cruise in December, courtesy of Singles Travel Company. Miguel of Startracks will play your favorite hits. Some of the cougars and cubs in attendance will reveal what they like about younger men/older women. I will discuss the advantage of cougar/cub dating, based on my book The Cougar Imperative: Why MidLife Women MUST Choose Younger Men. Quite an evening!
• Labor Day Weekend Art & Wine Tasting Party, Saturday, Sep 4, at Art People Gallery at The Crocker Galleria in San Francisco. Most singles do NOT go away over the Labor Day Weekend, and are looking for fun. That's why we expect a good crowd for this one!
