Singles Parties, May 4 - June 8, 2013
- Cinco de Mayo Dance on Cuatro de Mayo, Saturday, May 4, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in San Rafael. DJ Darryl K spun his usual magic at the DJ Booth. Nice turnout.
- New Beginnings Dance, Friday, May 10, at David' Restaurant in Santa Clara. Smaller crowd than at previous parties at this lovely restaurant. Guess there have been too many singles parties at this location--we've kind of run it into the ground with our singles. We need new venues in the Silicon Valley. Any suggestions?
- Gold Digger Party, Saturday, May 11, at Carbon Lounge in San Francisco. Good turnout, lots of new faces. We hope to return to this upscale nightclub in the future for another party!
- Bay Area Flirting Convention, Friday, May 17, at the San Mateo Marriott. Our annual flirtfest always is a big success, as it was this time.
- Singles Day at the Mountain Play, Saturday, May 18, at Mt Tam in Mill Valley. The outdoor production of The Sound of Music was sublime! Next year's production will be another all-time favorite Broadway show, South Pacific. See you there!
- Contra Costa Singles Convention, Friday, May 24, at the Renaissance ClubSport Hotel in Walnut Creek. Yours truly gave a politically incorrect talk on How to Be Irresistible to the Opposite Sex, and nobody complained. Guess our singles are ready for the truth. My guess is most singles won't be willing to follow my often painful advice, but at least they listened politely! DJ Slick ran a great dance party after the Keynote Address, with the dance floor packed all night.
- Venetian Room Dance at The Fairmont, Saturday, June 1, San Francisco. Spectacular party at a spectacular ballroom!
- Wine Tasting Party & Dance, Saturday, June 8, at Alibi in San Francisco. What a lovely new nightclub! We hope to do another party here soon. Great wines, great DJ!
UPCOMING SINGLES PARTIES:
- Welcome Summer Dance, Saturday, June 15, at Menlo Hub in Menlo Park. This is a large, beautiful restaurant with high cathedral ceilings, the perfect venue for kicking off our summer lineup of great parties!
- North Bay Singles Convention, Friday, June 21, at the Flamingo Resort Hotel in Santa Rosa. The largest annual gathering of singles in the North Bay this year features world-famous forensic psychiatrist Dr. Martin Blinder. You may remember him from the infamous "Twinkie Defense" when he testified in the Dan White Murder Trial of Mayor Moscone and Supervisor Milk. Tonight he discusses his book Choosing Lovers, quite a change of pace for this controversial author! Dance party follows, with a giant dance floor in a giant ballroom.
- Non-Traditional Dating Convention & Dance, Friday, June 28, at the Grosvenor Hotel SFO in South San Francisco. It's never been done before, so we are hoping for some heavy media coverage! For the first time, a convention for singles tired of the usual dating of people just like themselves. Tonight we encourage looking at alternative dating patterns between people of different ethnicities, ages, and income.
- Summer Ball, Saturday, July 6, at the lovely San Ramon Marriott. Most singles do NOT go away on holiday weekends and are looking for something fun to do. This is it!
- Oklahoma City Tornado Fundraiser, Friday, Friday, July 12, at Illusions in Palo Alto. 100% of your tax-deductible donation goes to the American Red Cross!
- Saturday Night Fever Dance, Saturday, July 13, at Embassy Suites San Rafael. Our annual dance features the great songs from the famous movie, plus a wide variety of other hits from today and the past, plus a free Saturday Night Hustle Dance Lesson led by DJ Extraordinaire Darryl K!
