Singles Parties, September 20 - November 3, 2012
Our Golden Gate Yacht Club Party, Nov 3, in San Francisco, as always was a great party, with big attendance. DJ Darryl K ran a high-energy dance, with terrific videos of all of our favorite recording artists!
OTHER PARTIES DURING THIS PERIOD:
- Advanced Degrees Party, Sep 20, at Yoshi's in San Francisco. Our annual party for well-educated singles was well-attended. It was our first-ever party at this premier jazz club, and was it beautiful! Hope to do another party at Yoshi's.
- Speed Dancing Party, Sept 21, at the Pleasanton Marriott. Big crowd, terrific party! This is the second Speed Dancing Party we have done, and like the first (at the Hyatt Regency Burlingame) everyone loved the opportunity to meet everyone (of the opposite sex) on the dance floor without fear of rejection. We'll have to more of this theme!
- Illusions Super Club Dance, Sep 29, in Palo Alto. Good turnout at this spectacular nightclub.
- Match Your Key Dance, Oct 5, at Sinbad's in San Francisco. Small turnout.
- Singles Extravaganza, Oct 13, at the Hyatt Regency Burlingame. Big crowd, as always, for our annual extravaganza! For the first time, 3 of our single ladies were made over, including hair style, makeup, and wardrobe. What a transformation! Author Gwen Mazer directed the makeovers, and delivered the Keynote Address on Ageless Beauty. She was assisted by Bita Hamidi of Barcelino and Colleen Abrie (style specialist). Of course we also had a giant dance party in the most spectacular ballroom on the San Francisco Peninsula!
- Art & Wine Tasting Party, Oct 20, at Nieto Fine Art Gallery in San Francisco. Below average attendance.
- Grand Opening Party at the Seafood Peddler, Oct 21, in Sausalito. Huge crowd! Didn't expect that many on a Sunday afternoon. The food was terrific (thank you Seafood Peddler!) We got lucky and had spectacular weather, enabling us to thoroughly enjoy the gorgeous views from this new restaurant.
- 2 Halloween Parties, Oct 26 (Palo Alto Sheraton) and Oct 27 (Embassy Suites San Rafael). I think our Halloween parties are our best. Something special about all the great costumes. Loosens up the crowd! Both parties were high-energy and well-attended.
- Sonoma Wine Country Mixer, Oct 28, at The Plaza Bistro. Only half as many as attended last year's party at this lovely restaurant on the square in Sonoma. Great food. I guess people just stayed home that afternoon and watched the Giants win the World Series! Wish I had known the Giants would be playing in the series ahead of time, so I could have scheduled this party on a different Sunday.
- Sadie Hawkins Dance, Friday, Nov 9, at Handle's at the Pleasanton Hotel. We have done several parties in past years at this landmark downtown Pleasanton venue, but this is our first since Handle's Gastropub has moved in. This is our annual Sadie Hawkins Dance, where the women ask for what they want... and get it! Should be fun.
- No Rejection Dance, Friday, Nov 16, at Neptune's at Pier 39. Lovely restaurant, lovely views. And best of all, no rejection! We will give prizes to the men and women who dance with the most people at this party, thereby hopefully eliminating the one thing that everyone dreads at a singles dance.
- 2nd Harvest Food Bank Fundraiser, Saturday, Nov 17, at Hendy Guesthouse in Sunnyvale. Our friend TJ is opening this historic venue to singles and donating 100% of the proceeds to this worthwhile charity!
- Baby Boomers Bash, Saturday, Nov 24, at the Hyatt Regency Burlingame. Our annual dance honoring America's 76 million boomers is always well-attended!
- Astrological Matchmaking Party, Tuesday, Nov 27, at the NEW Aloft Hotel in Millbrae. This is also an annual party and quite popular, especially since we have free mini-readings by astrologer Randall Curtis, and psychics Kim & Molly, and Una White. Only $10/door also includes free appetizers, plus we let you know with whom you are compatible and whom to avoid at the party! Party is in the lovely new WXYZ Lounge.
- Holiday Ball for Single Professionals, Friday, Nov 30, at The Fairmont, San Francisco's most spectacular hotel. Always a huge crowd. This time we are running commercials on 14 radio stations!
- Holiday Singles Convention, Saturday, Dec 8, at Silo's at the historic Napa River Inn. Last year's party was so well attended at this fun venue, we are doing it again!
- Young Single Professionals Holiday Mixer, Tuesday, Dec 11, at the Sheraton San Jose, which is actually in Milpitas. For our younger singles, late 20s to early 40s.
- New Year Eve Bash. We are hoping to nail down a location soon!
