Singles Parties, March 6-9, 2007

Our first-ever party in Antioch, Tuesday, March 6, was fun, with lots of new singles from the Pittsburg/Antioch/Oakley area, and lots of food. Not too many came from elsewhere, however. I guess they just couldn't bear to fight the heavy traffic congestion going east on Hwy 4 on an early Tuesday evening. We will do another singles party out there again, as there obviously is a need for one, but next time we will do it at a time when there is likely to be less traffic. Hopefully more folks will drive out from other areas and make for a much larger party. Charleen Earley of The Brentwood Press covered the event. We look forward to reading her feature story!

Our first-ever Wine Tasting Party with a Live Band Dance, on Thursday, March 8, had a huge turnout! It was in Los Gatos and I had a long drive home back to San Rafael, so I didn't stay for the live band, The Joint Chiefs. They were terrific the last time we had them, hope they were again for us. We concluded the weekend with our annual Bay Area Flirting Convention on Friday, March 9, at the San Mateo Marriott. Our first Flirting Convention was in 1994 and Oprah devoted an entire show to it! This time, 13 years later, we still got heavy media attention. KRON 4 TV and NBC 11 both interviewed our Keynote Speaker, Susan Bradley, as did KGO Radio. I was interviewed by KLIV radio. Susan Bradley delivered a most entertaining Keynote Address on The Art of Flirting, with audience partipation. It was a lot of fun. Then we had the Bay Area Flirting Contest. Congratulations to our two champions, Jeff Malone of San Francisco and Suzon Fleming of the Peninsula! Very crowded, very nice party, excellent music by DJ HickeyB! of Choice Music. Mahesh Lalwani of ccube.com spoke briefly at the microphone and invited everyone to join his new website, featuring free social networking over the phone. More details at www.ccube.com.
