Singles Parties, April 22-26, 2008

3 parties this past week:
  1. Free Singles Financial Planning Seminar & Social, Tuesday, April 22, at the Concord Hilton. Timothy R. Yee gave a helpful talk on "10 Steps to Financial Freedom," followed by free wine and food, which were plentiful and excellent. Thank you, Timothy! If you missed this fun talk, you might want to call Timothy at 510/638-6331 or visit his website. He will be speaking for us again next month on Tuesday, May 27, 7-9pm, at the Bay Cafe at Palo Alto Municipal Golf Course.
  2. Peninsula Singles Convention, Friday, April 25, at the Westin Hotel at SFO. Fairly large turnout, but too big of a ballroom and too big of a dance floor. People love being in giant ballrooms with giant dance floors, but the secret to a great party is that it be crowded and intimate. Not so easy to predict turnouts, however, so sometimes we get too big a venue (and sometimes too small).
  3. 30th Anniversary Dance for American Singles, Saturday, April 26, at the Embassy Suites in San Rafael. Huge crowd, great party! Wish we had had the extra space that we had at last night's party at the Westin.

We have 3 more parties next weekend:

  1. Dance by the Bay with Luau Buffet, Friday, May 2. Always a giant turnout for our parties at the Golden Gate Yacht Club in SF. And why not? You can't beat the terrific deal (dinner and dancing for only $25) and great ambience!
  2. Art & Wine Tasting Party, Saturday, May 3, Swarm Art Gallery at Jack London Square. This is a very large space that will easily accommodate the crowd.
  3. Advanced Degrees Mixer, Sunday, May 4, Kincaid's, 60 Bayview Plaza, Burlingame. Here's your chance to meet well-educated singles!

Details are at www.ThePartyHotline.com. See you at the parties!

Singles Parties, April 18-19, 2008

Only two parties this past weekend, both very well attended.

Our first-ever Lock & Key & Dance, Friday, April 18, at the Concord Hilton, was a big success. For those of you outside the Contra Costa area, we have two more coming up, May 5 in Petaluma and May 16 in Milpitas.

Our Young Single Professionals Party this month, Saturday, April 19, returned to Roe Night Club. What a great place to party! After our Mixer Game the beautiful go-go dancers came up and put on quite a show. Next month's YSP party will be in Marin for the first time, Thursday, May 8, at Gaylord's in Sausalito.

Next week features three events, beginning with a FREE Singles Financial Planning Seminar and Social on Tuesday, April 22, at the Concord Hilton. Timothy R. Yee will speak on 10 Steps to Financial Freedom. There will be complimentary wine, soft drinks, and food for those who attend Timothy's entertaining talk.

The San Francisco Peninsula Singles Convention is on Friday, April 25, at the Westin SFO Hotel in Millbrae. Our last party there was not well-attended, due to the terrible storm, but we expect a big crowd tonight! I will deliver my most popular keynote address, Looking for Love in All the RIGHT Places, which has entertained over 100,000 singles all over the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Then we dance until midnight!

To celebrate our 30th Anniversary, we return to the Embassy Suites Hotel, Rings Night Club, in San Rafael, for one night only--Saturday, April 26. Yes, it's been 30 years that we have been throwing parties for singles. We started up in San Rafael in 1978 and have produced thousands of singles parties worldwide since then. Come and celebrate with us, and with popular DJ Darryl K!

Parties, April 10-12, 2008

I missed all three of our parties this past weekend, because I was escorting 120 singles on a Baja Singles Cruise. We had a terrific time! Every night the dance floor was packed at the Leonardo night club aboard Carnival's fun ship Paradise. Our singles interacted extremely well with each other, especially at our private parties. Hope you can join us on a future singles cruise, as this is a great way to have a blast, while meeting lots of new friends. Details at www.SinglesTravelCompany.com.

Thank you to Patrick Dalal and Jim Spillane, who ran our Wine Tasting parties on Thursday night, April 10, at Number One Broadway in Los Gatos and on Saturday night, April 12, at California Modern Art Gallery in San Francisco. They report that there were very good turnouts at both parties.

Barbara Millin of Singles Supper Club ran the Spring Ball on Friday, April 11, and reports a very good dinner and dance at David's Restaurant, as usual.

Only two parties this coming weekend. On Friday, April 18 we have our first-ever Lock & Key & Dance at the Concord Hilton, the site of so many great parties for singles.

Our monthly Young Single Professionals party will be on Saturday, April 19, at Roe in San Francisco. 160 singles attended our last party at this exciting night club.

Details about all the parties at www.ThePartyHotline.com. Since I will not be on another singles cruise this weekend (darn!) I will be your host at both of the parties. See you there!

Singles Parties, April 3-5, 2008

3 parties this past weekend, beginning with our Mid-Life Singles Convention on Thursday, April 3, at the Flamingo in Santa Rosa. Big crowd for a Thursday night. Our singles enjoyed brief talks by Mason Grigsby, author of Love at SECOND Sight: Playing the Mid-Life Dating Game; and by Annie Gleason of Get a Love Life. The karaoke and dancing that followed were also fun.

The vast majority of our singles skipped the performance of "Insignificant Others," a musical comedy, on Friday, April 4, at Theatre 39 at Pier 39 in San Francisco. Big mistake, as the theme was perfect for singles: that we tend to overvalue romantic relationships (with a "significant other") and undervalue platonic friendships (so-called "insignificant" others). I wish all of our singles could have enjoyed this terrific performance! Earlier in the evening we met downstairs from Theatre 39 for a pre-party at The Hard Rock Cafe. A little loud, but a fun environment.

We concluded the weekend with Spring Night Delight, a waterfront dance party at Sinbad's in SF on Saturday, April 5.It took a long time to get the dance party going--it looked like this was going to be our deadest dance party of the year. Fortunately people eventually loosened up and the dance floor was packed for the rest of the evening.

Next week we have three more parties. Last year's Wine Tasting and Live Band Dance at Number One Broadway in Los Gatos was so much fun, we are doing it again on Thursday, April 10. After the wine tasting, 7:30-9:30pm, Sweet Lucy will provide live music for dancing.

On Friday, April 11 we are co-sponsoring our Spring Ball with Singles Supper Club, at David's in Santa Clara. This is a lovely restaurant and always attracts a big crowd. Dress in your finest for this elegant soiree!

We conclude next weekend with our Farewell Art & Wine Tasting Party on Saturday, April 12, at California Modern Art Museum. It's sad that this wonderful venue is closing. It has been the site of so many large parties for us over the years!
