Singles Parties, July 9 - 23, 2011

5 parties over the past few weeks:

• Wine Tasting & Dance, Saturday, July 9, at Mr Smith's Nightclub in San Francisco. Good turnout, good DJ.


• Sonoma Wine Country Mixer, Sunday, July 10, at The Plaza Bistro in Sonoma. Another good crowd, great weather. Thank you to The Plaza Bistro for the excellent appetizers.


• Bay Area Flirting Convention, Friday, July 15, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City. Author Susan Bradley, as always, was most entertaining, as she led us on a Flirting Safari. Congratulations to Ed Zelznick of Menlo Park, who won the title of Mr Bay Area Flirt; and to Genevieve Yu of San Mateo, who won the title of Ms Bay Area Flirt. They have been featured several times by the local news media. Good turnout.


• Summer Night Delight Dinner Dance, Friday, July 22, at David's Restaurant at the Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club. Laura of Singles Supper Club, who ran the event, reports a very large crowd and a fun party!


• Saturday Night Fever Dance, Saturday, July 23, at Embassy Suites Hotel in San Rafael. DJ Darry K taught a fun Saturday Night Fever Hustle Dance Lesson, followed by our favorite songs and videos from the 70s. Really fun party and good turnout.

COMING UP:

• Baby Boomers Bash, Friday, July 29, at the Crystal Ballroom at Hotel Shattuck Plaza in Berkeley. Last year's bash was well-attended, and we are expecting the same this year!


• Sausalito Waterfront Match Your Key Dance, Friday, August 5, at The Spinnaker. We have done many moderate-sized mixers, with no dancing, on weeknights at this lovely restaurant. Now, for the first time, we are doing a large dance party in the private banquet room in the back of the restaurant, with excellent views!


• Golden Gate Yacht Club Dance, Friday, August 12, in San Francisco. We had to postpone this party, originally scheduled for June 11, because of a water main break at the yacht club. This party is worth the wait! Always a great turnout at this popular venue.


• A Touch of Class, Saturday, Aug 20, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Burlingame. Always wanted to do a party at this lovely hotel. Finally closed the deal...


• Single Millionaires Party, Thursday, Aug 25, at Bay Cafe at Palo Alto Municipal Golf Club. Big crowd expected for this first-ever party!

Singles Parties, June 17 - July 2, 2011

5 parties during this span of time:

• Contra Costa Singles Convention, Friday, June 17, at the Renaissance ClubSport Hotel in Walnut Creek. Big crowd, as always, for this annual event.



• Young Single Professionals Mixer & Dance, Thursday, June 23, at Kaama Lounge in San Jose. Much smaller turnout than our previous party for YSP in this nice location. Perhaps our singles wanted a new venue...


• Men in Black Dance, Saturday, June 25, at the San Mateo Marriott. Fairly good turnout, but the large size of this ballroom made the party look less crowded than we would have liked.



• 70s-80s Hits Mixer & Dance, Thursday, June 30, at Circa in San Francisco. Beautiful upscale restaurant, a few new faces, and a fun DJ playing all of our favorites from the 70s and 80s.



• Independence Day Match Your Key Dance, Saturday, July 2, at the W Hotel in Newark. Those who didn't go away for the long weekend were able to enjoy a fun party at a nice hotel!

• Wine Tasting & Dance, Saturday, July 9, at Mr Smith's Nightclub in San Francisco. You can't beat the combination of a tasting of boutique wines, followed by dancing in a fun nightclub!



• Sonoma Wine Country Mixer, Sunday, July 10, at the Plaza Bistro in the quaint town of Sonoma. Should be a great opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Sonoma countryside and taste some great wines along the way to our fun Mixer!



• Bay Area Flirting Convention, Friday, July 15, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City. We're excited about our first-ever party at this lovely hotel. Our annual Flirting Convention is always well-attended. The first convention was featured on Oprah!



• Summer Night Delight Dinner Dance, Friday, July 22, at David's Restaurant at the Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club. Co-sponsored with Singles Supper Club, so expect a big turnout. If you can make it to the dinner, it's a great way to meet some folks before the dancing starts.



• Saturday Night Fever Dance, Saturday, July 23, at Embassy Suites Hotel in San Rafael. Our annual party features a free Saturday Night Hustle lesson from DJ Darryl K, followed by our favorite hits from the 70s-80s, plus some modern music as well.



• Baby Boomers Bash, Friday, July 29, at the Crystal Ballroom at Hotel Shattuck Plaza. Last year's bash at this hotel was well-attended, and we are hopeful to do as well this year!



• Golden Gate Yacht Club Dance, Friday, Aug 12, in San Francisco. Sad that we had to move this party, scheduled for last month, to another location, due to a broken water main. GGYC, Home of the America's Cup, has reopened. We always get a great turnout for this one!
