Singles Parties, May 20 - 28, 2011

Big crowd, as always, for our annual Blue Jean Ball, Friday, May 27, at Hotel Sofitel in Redwood Shores CA. What a lovely setting! Four other parties during this two week period:

• MidLife Mixer, Friday, May 20, at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Milpitas. Annie Gleason of Get a Love Life! gave a brief, inspiring talk about MidLife Dating. Lots of new faces, as Annie and I were featured on MercuryNews.com ahead of the party.


• Wine Tasting & Dance, Saturday, May 21, at Redux Nightclub in Walnut Creek. Nice venue to sample some great wines and dance to the big hits.


• Spring Fling, Wednesday, May 25, at W Hotel in Newark. Big crowd, as we shared this venue with the lovely folks from Avalon Salon in Fremont.


• California Cougar Convention, Saturday, May 28, at Intramuros Nightclub in South San Francisco. Congratulations to Kimberly Marsh of Mission Viejo CA was crowned Miss Cougar California! She won a free Cougar Cruise, plus five nights at Hedonism II Resort & Spa in Jamaica. Amy Luna, Miss Cougar International, gave a no-holds-barred talk about How to P.L.E.A.S.E. • Matchmaking Mixer & Dance, Friday, June 3, at Embassy Suites Hotel in San Rafael. Author Martin Ucik of Singles2Couples has a unique matchmaking process that gets everyone to meet everyone and find out whether there is any compatibility.


• Match Your Key Dance, Saturday, June 4, at David's at Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club. This large, lovely restaurant is a favorite venue for our parties.


• Golden Gate Yacht Club Dance, Saturday, June 11, in San Francisco. A perenniel favorite, despite all the years we have done parties at the "Home of The America's Cup."


• Our annual Contra Costa Singles Convention, Friday, June 17, at Renaissance ClubSport Hotel in Walnut Creek. This year we have a special treat: Jo Anna Philips, author of How to Shop for the Perfect Relationship, followed by Dance Party.

Singles Parties, May 5 -13, 2011

Great turnout for our annual Singles Charity Ball, Friday, May 13, at the Westin St Francis Hotel on Union Square in San Francisco. We raised $7125, which will allow The Seva Foundation to restore sight to approximately 143 blind people! If you were unable to attend, please donate on The Seva Foundation website.

OTHER PARTIES

• Matchmaking Mixer & Dance, Thursday, May 5, at The Flamingo Resort Hotel in Santa Rosa. Author Martin Ucik of Singles2Couples led the Matchmaking Mixer, which enabled everyone to discover if there was anyone at the party with whom they were compatible! Then we enjoyed dancing and karaoke with DJ Bobby D. If you missed this one, Martin will conduct another Matchmaking Mixer for us on Friday, June 3, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in San Rafael.
• Match Your Key Dance, Friday, May 6, at the Clarion Hotel SFO in Millbrae. Poor turnout. Later I learned that the hotel ran out of parking spots, so many of our singles were unable to attend. Bummer!
• A Fun Evening in Tiburon, Tuesday, May 10, at Guaymas. It would have more fun if we had more people. The appetizers were great. Lovely view of San Francisco Skyline and the Bay!

Annie Gleason of Get a Love Life!, dating expert for the SF Examiner, will give a brief entertaining talk, with complimentary appetizers. • Wine Tasting & Optional Dance Party, Saturday, May 21, at Redux Nightclub in Downtown Walnut Creek.
• Spring Fling, Wednesday, May 25, at W Hotel in Newark. Kickoff the Memorial Day Holiday early with free wine and appetizers (for earlybirds, as long as they last), plus socializing in the W's comfy "Living Room" and dancing in the Banquet Room, with Live DJ. Only $10 at the door! Such a deal!
• Blue Jean Ball, Friday, May 27, 8pm-12, at Hotel Sofitel in Redwood Shores. Our singles usually dress up for our parties at upscale hotels such as the Sofitel, but tonight's your chance to go casual (wear your finest jeans and top, of course!)
• California Cougar Convention, Saturday, May 28, 7:30pm, at Intramuros Nightclub in South San Francisco. Help us choose Miss Cougar California, who wins a free week at Hedonism II Resort in Jamaica and a berth on the Cougar Cruise to the Bahamas, Dec 2-5. More information on www.CougarEvents.com.

Singles Parties, April 19 - 30, 2011

Just got back from New York City, where I produced the 3rd Annual National Cougar Convention, at Mahattan's ecologically-friendly Greenhouse Nightclub. Aalsa Lee, 73 years old, was crowned Miss Cougar America! Nice turnout. The news media also attended in force and wrote features stories about the convention on The Atlantic Magazine, New York Post, CBS New York, and NBC New York websites. While I was out of town, Laura Lane of Singles Supper Club hosted our Singles Weekend in the Silicon Valley, at the Sheraton Palo Alto. Friday night's dinner/dance was lightly attended. Saturday night was the big party.

• Celebrity Matchmaker Party, Tuesday, April 19, at Kaama in San Jose. Janis Spindel of New York City coached our single women about the 10 Mistakes Women Make, followed by appetizers, socializing, and dancing with the guys, who came after Janis's inspiring talk. Laura Lane of Singles Supper Club, who ran this party, reports a good turnout.
• Art & Wine Tasting & Interiors Party, Friday, April 22, at Shawna Stoney in San Francisco. Great venue for this fun party.
• Easter Dance, Saturday, April 23, at Hotel Shattuck Plaza in Berkeley. Good turnout, fun dance party with DJ Slick.

This is the big one! 600 attended last year. 100% of your tax-deductible donation of $20 goes to the Seva Foundation to restore sight to the blind, at an average cost of only $50 for each eye surgery!
• MidLife Mixer, Friday, May 20, at the Crowne Plaza in Milpitas. Annie Gleason of Get a Love Life! will be on hand to answer your personal questions about midlife dating, plus appetizers and fun mixer game.
• Wine Tasting Party, Saturday, May 21, at Redux Nightclub in Walnut Creek. Stay for House DJ Dance Party which follows!
• Spring Fling, Wednesday, May 25, at the W Hotel in Newark. Only $10/door includes free wine and appetizers (until they run out), plus dancing to your favorite hits. Great way to kickoff the Memorial Day holiday a couple of nights early!
